I live in a place with a reasonable amount of natural beauty & scenic places but I'm not going to lie & say it's the most beautiful place in the world, it's probably not even the most beautiful place in South Africa.
If you've been to KZN, you'll realise that it's not quiet like this. KZN is still a crime-ridden, impoverished place in Africa. I just like to edit videos to look aesthetically & audibly appealing. My social media often has nothing to do with reality even though I am my authentic self on both social media & real life, social media is designed in a way that you want to show your best side.
In travel videos & images, we never see the dark reality of people getting stabbed or road rage in Paris or New York, we just see beautiful buildings, the Eiffel Tower & Statue of Liberty. They'll never show you horrid pollution & you'd have to get there to smell the stench of these tourist attractions. Even with nature reserves, you must be delusional if you don't think elephant dung doesn't smell like the worst sewer in the world. Some people romanticise safaris as if seeing a lion will change your world. It won't. I've seen the Colosseum in pictures, I know what it looks like. My life won't change if I go see it live. The only extra experience I might get is experience Italian racism & we've had three centuries too many of that from our imports here.
The Eiffel Tower, said to be one of the most visited monuments in the world.
So, my advice on learning about the world (especially, as a black male) is rather watch travel vlogs & see other online media. Don't get yourself killed all because you wanted to watch Boca Juniors playing River Plate live.
Don't get me wrong, I love watching travellers in travel shows but as a layman "travelling" what's it really going to help you with? Even the concrete jungle that you live in has it's natural beauty. So don't travel for the sake of seeing Victoria Falls, rather go somewhere because you're going to do something productive there otherwise you're just wasting money on a trip you could have watched a video of from the comfort of your own home.
